BOWLING

The HU bowling teams bowled in their second WHAC Jamboree over the weekend at Wayne Bowl. The women’s squad continued to show they are competitive anywhere at any time coming away with a strong 3rd place finish out of 12 teams.

The Foresters bowled a total of 6,375 pins behind senior Brianna Cearbaugh who posted a second place individual finish for her second All-Tournament Team honor this season. She scored a total of 833 pins for a 208.25/game average.

The JV crew tallied 5,928 pins for the tournament to claim second, just 38 pins short of another tournament win.

The HU men’s team didn’t fare quite so well having settled for an 8th place finish out of 13 teams with 6,531 pins. Austin Schultz led the Foresters with an individual score of 744 for a 186/average. Shockey’s JV troops collected 6,205 pins on the way to a 5th place finish.

“While the finish wasn’t what we wanted,” noted Coach Shockey. “The guys did a lot of good things that we can build off of.”

Next up for Shockey and crew if the Columbia 300 Western Shootout on October 20-21.
