Internship Story – Camden Wild

In honor of National Career Development Month, each week we will share a story about one of our students and their experiential learning experience. Internships, practicums, and job shadows are integral parts of our total package at HU and are vital to a professional’s development. If you are interested in learning more about how our experiential learning programs could benefit you, contact Kyle or Martha!

CAMDEN WILD – FORT WAYNE KOMETS

Camden Wild, a senior double-majoring in Marketing as well as Economics & Finance, spent his Summer and parts of his Fall working as a Sales Intern with the Fort Wayne Komets, a professional hockey franchise in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Focusing on season ticket sales, multiple ticket packages, and working with several clients, this experience gave Camden a tremendous head start in understanding sales techniques, client relations, and many more vital business practices.

“I was given the opportunity to work for a well-known organization and see how they function internally,” Wild said, “I was also given the freedom to do a lot of things my way. This freedom allowed me to try different sales techniques and get experience with them as well as figure out what worked and did not work for me.”

Experiences like this enable students like Camden to not only understand the professional world and its demands, but also allow them to understand themselves as professionals.

“I am truly blessed to have done this internship, and I am very grateful for the opportunity I was given.”
