MEN’S SOCCER
Senior Matheus Louzada and sophomore Jake Erlandson were among the list of 2018 Men’s Soccer All-Conference honorees as announced by the Crossroads League earlier today.
For the second straight year, Louzada was a Fist Team All-Conference pick as voted on by the league coaches.
The Brazilian midfielder is one of the best at his craft having scored seven goals and dished out ten dimes for 24 points which ranks him 3rd among his league peers in total points, 2nd in assists per game (0.48) and 6th in total goals. He also tops the CL in shots on goal per game (2.05).
To date, Louzada boasts 23 career goals to go along with 28 assists.
Erlandson is also a repeat offender as a Second Team selection. The hard-nosed versatile sophomore has played multiple spots for Lawson this fall.
After spending the first few matches anchoring the Foresters’ backline, the Waynesville (Ohio) native moved up front where he scored five goals, which included two game-winners, and handed out two assists.
“I’m so proud of these two young men,” said Coach Lawson. “To be recognized by our league coaches is an honor. We have become accustomed to Matheus and Jake taking over games – this is a well-deserved!”
This past weekend, the Foresters (11-7-3) were crowned the Crossroads League Tournament Champions by upsetting 11th-ranked Spring Arbor 2-1. With this win, HU picks up the league’s automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament where they will face Central Methodist on November 17 in the opening round.
