MEN’S BASKETBALL

The Crossroads League announced its 2018-2019 Men’s Basketball Preseason All-Conference Teams with Huntington University senior Tyler Arens and junior Konner Platt among the list of honorees.

After earning Honorable Mention accolades last preseason, Arens (Sweetser, IN, Muncie Central HS) was tabbed a Third Team pick this fall. The 6-8 forward returns to the hardwood as the Foresters’ leading scorer and rebounder having poured in 18.3 points while pulling down 7.5 boards per night.

Joining Arens on the Third Team is Platt, a 6-2 shooting guard. The Huntington native (Huntington North HS) posted 14.6 points to go along with 3.5 rebounds per outing last winter. He knocked down a team-best 72 threes at a clip of .434 percent.

Coach Platt’s crew was picked to finish seventh in the league’s preseason poll. The Foresters posted a 9-9 Crossroads League record last year for a 5th place finish in the regular season standings. HU’s season kicks off on October 27 with a road trip to Concordia University (MI).
