VOLLEYBALL

Huntington University sophomore Ariene Butler garnered this week’s volleyball defensive player of the week honor as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.

The 5-3 libero anchored the backline last week to guide the Foresters to two wins against a loss which included a 3-2 upset over Grace Saturday afternoon of HU’s homecoming. She tallied a career-best 32 digs in Huntington’s 3-2 win over Goshen on Friday on her way to racking up 73 digs for the week to average 5.6 digs per set.

Butler currently ranks 15th in the NAIA in total digs with 471 and 5th in digs per set (4.5) among her league peers.

The Foresters (9-16, 5-8) take a break from conference play to compete in the Cornerstone/Aquinas Classic this coming weekend.
