BULK MAIL SERVICE
Here are some tips when it comes to bulk mailings:
For a mailing to qualify for bulk mailing prices, it has to contain at least 200 pieces. All of the pieces have to be exactly alike and weigh exactly the same.
The mailing has to be in zip code order (from smallest to largest) when it comes to the mailroom. If you have a zip code with the +4, it goes just after the pieces with the zip code matching the first five digits. For example, 46750-0932 would go after all of the pieces that have just 46750 on them.
The price of postage for a mail piece depends on how many are going to the same zip code area but most regular letters go for around 19 cents per piece compared to 50 cents per piece if it goes regular First Class mail.
Bulk mailings are considered standard mail so they move slower through the postal system than First Class mail does. It will take longer to reach its destination. It also takes longer for the mailroom to process a bulk mailing so please allow up to 2 days of processing time before the mailing is even sent out.
If you need a mailing to reach its recipients quickly, then you should send it First Class mail. But, if you want to save some money and time isn’t an issue, bulk mailing is definitely a good option.
