Huntington University sophomore Paige Eakright earned this week’s volleyball offensive player of the week honor as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.
The 5-10 outside hitter helped guide the Foresters to a 2-1 record last week. In HU’s 3-2 win over Bethel on Wednesday, Eakright finished with a team-leading and career-tying 17 kills to go along with 18 digs and two aces.
Eakright followed up that performance by establishing a new career-best 23 kills in her team’s 3-1 W Friday night. The Fort Wayne native wrapped up the week with ten kills and 16 digs for her second double double of the week against #RV Marian on Saturday.
For the week, Eakright tallied 50 kills and 40 digs for averages of 3.85 and 3.08 per set respectively.
Huntington (6-11, 3-6) opens up second round of league play on Wednesday by hosting #16 Saint Francis at 7:00 p.m.
