WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Forester women’s soccer team ran up against one of the hottest teams in the country Saturday afternoon at King Stadium in undefeated #RV Trinity Christian College. The Trolls scored twice in the first half and then again in the final 45 minutes to blank HU 3-0.

Huntingtin isn’t alone in coming empty against TCC as five of the Trolls’ seven wins this season have been clean sheets. Trinity has given up just three goals on the year behind their senior keeper Allyson Kranstz who currently ranks 15th in the NAIA in goals against per game at 0.54.

After generating just two shots in the first period, the Foresters matched TCC in shots in the final 45 minutes with nine which included several quality looks midway through the half that just missed the mark.

Danielle Dehner took the loss in goal for Huntington. The rookie keeper gave up three goals while notching 13 saves.

The Foresters have one more match before diving into conference play. Coach Burge likes how her team is shaping up as they near the heart of their season. “We continue to see good things against tough opponents, which continues to propel us forward as we find opportunities to capitalize.

“We will push ahead with heart, joy and grit as we face conference play in the coming weeks.”

Huntington hosts Bluffton University on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
