Citizens Police Academy

The Huntington University Police Department in conjunction with the Huntington City Police Department will be hosting a Citizens Police Academy at HU this fall. The classes will be held every Wednesday starting August, 29th until October 17th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The class is designed to better educate citizens about the day to day operations of a police department and enhance the overall communication between citizens and the department. There will be many topics covered during the course such as Crime Scene Investigations, Domestic Violence, Crash Investigations, Drunk Driving Enforcement, and others. You will also get to shoot at the police department range, be the police officer in mock scenarios, and complete a ride along on a shift at the city police department.
