The Crossroads League has announced its 2018 All-Conference picks and included on the list of honorable mention honorees is HU’s Jamar Weaver, Donovan Clark and Connor West.

For Weaver, it marks his second All-Conference Honorable Mention badge. At the plate, he finished the season with 44 hits which included ten doubles and a homerun. He knocked in 28 runs and scored 37 times.

Weaver was also honored on the Gold Glove Team for his defense. The Westview High School product (Shipshewana native) claimed a .989 fielding percentage in 47 games as the league’s top second baseman having committed just two miscues on the year. He turned 29 double plays and collected 96 assists.

New to the league, Clark wasted little time establishing himself as the most dangerous baserunner in the Crossroads League. The sophomore centerfielder topped the conference in stolen bases with 33, which is also an HU record for steals in a season, in addition to ranking first in at bats per game with his 3.83 average.

The Fort Wayne native (Southside HS) finished the year with a team-best 56 hits and 64 total bases. He touched home 44 times and logged 11 RBI.

West rounds out the list of Honorable Mention choices. The junior southpaw had a breakout year to lead the league in ERA (1.66), opponent batting average (.206), hits allowed per game (6.65), earned runs allowed (12) and innings pitched per game (5.91). He also finished sixth among his conference peers in wins with six.

In 65 innings on the mound, the Huntington North standout struck out 66 batters, just 14 for extra bases, while giving up 48 hits and 19 runs, 12 of which were earned.
