Fairchild Article Published by Biblical Archaeology Society

The Biblical Archaeology Society has now released the Nov/Dec edition of the Biblical Archaeology Review containing Prof. Mark Fairchild’s article on Paul’s first missionary journey in Turkey. Copies should soon should arrive at our library. Subscribers to the periodical should receive their copies soon as well. You can see a brief description at the Biblical Archaeology Society website:

Prof. Fairchild supplied them with lots of photographs to choose for the article and they liked them all. So they set up a slideshow at their website (the link above), to display several more shots that don’t appear in the article. If you visit the website, click to enlarge the screen so you can see the photos in large life. If you also place your cursor over the spots at the bottom an explanation of the photo appears.

To read the full article you’ll have to purchase a copy from the Biblical Archaeology Society (you can do this at their website), or you can read our copy in the library (Anita’s on the lookout for this).

An earlier edition of the BAR (last year – July 2012) contains another article explaining Fairchild’s discovery of two previously unknown ancient synagogues in Cilcia (Paul’s home district). One of these synagogues is the earliest synagogue ever found. Check out the copy of BAR in our library.
