Social Work Student Council Event – please share with students who may be interested!

Calling all interested in getting information on drugs and addictions!

What’s the deal? Social Work Student Council is hosting an educational session regarding drugs and addictions on its impact on individuals. The session will include information about assessing a person for whether or not they are under the influence of drugs, assessing a home to see whether or not there is drug activity going on, and assessing children to see if they are in a house where drugs are abused.

When is this happening? October 10th from 3-5 p.m. in Longaker Recital Hall

Why have you been invited? If you are receiving this email, more than likely you are interested in a profession where this will be an issue that you will want to be aware of. This is a joint effort of the Department of Child Services and the Detective’s Bureau, so this will be some very valuable and relevant information for each of you. In our professional fields we are obligated to report if we suspect there is illegal drug use in the home and it is negatively affecting the child. It’s important for us to know what to look for!

What we need from you: We want to tailor this event to your interests and questions. If you could please email perryj@huntington.edu with at least two questions that you would like to have answered, we will work at making this session something that will help answer those questions!

Hope to see you there!
