Don’t forget – 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Audition Wednesday night!

The theatre department is seeking enthusiastic, highly energetic singers dancers and actors for its upcoming production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Even if you have limited experience on stage or even in dance, why not just go for it!?! Don’t miss your opportunity to audition for this fun classic musical and the experience to work alongside a talented cast led by a dynamic New York city based guest director. Auditions are open to all interested!

WHEN: Wednesday, September 4, 2013
WHAT TIME: 6:00-10:00PM
WHERE: MCA 160 (Acting Lab – in the lower level of the MCA)

WHAT TO PREPARE AND OTHER AUDITION INFORMATION:
Please prepare to sing a SHORT 16-32 measure cut (basically one verse and/or a verse and chorus) from a Broadway musical that is similar in style to the music of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Sing what shows you off best! An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your sheet music with you to your singing audition. Singing auditions will take place from 6:00-8:20PM. Please stop by the theatre callboard (lower level hall of MCA) and sign up for a time-slot. Please show up at least 10 minutes early in order to fill out an audition form.

There will also be a dance portion of the audition from 8:30-10:00PM. All those auditioning for a role as a Brother, Suitor, Bride or townsperson are required to attend the dance auditions. College aged students between 17-26 preferred for all these roles. Please bring a pair of dance shoes/tennis shoes to wear during this time. You may also encouraged to change into dance clothes for this portion of the audition.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoallum, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders and the Preacher are not required to attend dance auditions and could possibly be cast by age appropriate community members (ages 30 and up). There are no children’s roles available in this musical. Character descriptions can be found on the theatre callboard. The role of Adam has been pre-cast in fulfillment of a theatre major’s senior project.

Call backs for will be held on Thursday, September 5 at 8:00PM. Further information on call-backs will be given at initial audition.
