Welcome a new (returning) Controller & Director of Financial Services
As previously announced, Scott Berry will leave the controller position, transitioning to Parkview Health Systems.
When I stepped into the CFO role in summer of 2012, on an interim basis, my prayer was that my team stay the same for a year and only get stronger. And, that if my Controller left (Scott) that the Lord bring me a CPA, with not-for-profit, and higher education experience. I even prayed for HU experience!
The Lord’s timing and hand in this Controller change has been amazing! He has answered my prayers!
Connie Bonner served as Controller at Huntington University from October 1991 to July 1998. Connie left HU to spend additional time with her family and later relocated to Arizona. While in Arizona, Connie has served in accounting roles for the City of Wilcox, AZ, the Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture in Wilcox, AZ, the Wilcox United Methodist Church, and the Controller for Living Rock Family Outreach. Connie has been a busy lady!
I heard that Connie and her husband Dave were returning to the Huntington area. I made a phone call and the rest was in the Lord’s hands.
Connie’s husband Dave returned to a purchasing manager position at PHD in Fort Wayne, and they will be relocating to the Markle area. Their daughter Shelby is a senior at Northern Arizona University studying Geology. Cameron, their son, is at technical school to be a special equipment mechanic in the US Air Force.
Connie will be on campus next week to work with Scott for three days. She will then return to AZ to complete the city financial audit the week of the 9th of September, pack up and leave AZ the week of the 16th and will start part-time at HU the week of the 23rd and full time the week of the 30th!
Connie brings a wonderful spirit, a heart for serving the Lord and others, and a tremendous amount of experience to the Controller and Director of Financial Services position. Please join me in welcoming Connie back to the Huntington University family!
