MEN’S GOLF

The HU men’s golf team posted a 642 (317, 325) over two days at Bethel College’s Pilot Spring Invitational at Blackthorn Golf Club over the weekend to finish 9th out of 13 teams. Leading the way with an eight-over-par 152 (75, 77) was Cale Carr which landed him 9th out of 67 golfers.

Andrew Weisheit carded a 160 (81, 79) to finish 31st. Two strokes back was Zakry Cummings with a 162 (79, 83). Zach Borntreger was next for the Foresters with a 168 (82, 86) followed by Nick Whitney with a 182 (87, 95).

Taylor claimed the team title with a 590 followed by Saint Francis (604), Mount Vernon (612), Holy Cross (615), Purdue Northwest (631), Spring Arbor (634), Olivet Nazarene (637), Trinity Christian (639), HU (642), Grace (643), Judson (649), IUSB (661) and Bethel (687).

Huntington has one more match, the Ackerman-Allen Shoot Out on Tuesday, before the Crossroads League Tournament on April 23-24.
