WOMEN’S TENNIS

Competing a player down, the HU women’s tennis team came up on the short end of a 6-3 decision to Purdue Northwest (7-15) Saturday afternoon at Match Point Tennis and Fitness Club. It was the Foresters’ first match of the spring and just their fourth loss of the year against 14 wins.

Huntington’s three wins all came in in singles action with Meg Dolde, Lisa Colling and Anastasiia Evstifeeva each cruising to the W. Between the threesome, they gave up just 11 games.

“I was very pleased with the team’s effort today,” said Coach Ferguson. “Especially considering we were down a player from the start and our last competitive match was in October.”

HU is back in action on April 20-21 to compete in the Mark Richards Tournament.
