MEN’S TENNIS

Playing indoors with a jostled line-up that didn’t include Ignacio Poncio, Rodrigo Manzo or Mariano Echevarria, the Forester men’s tennis team still breezed past Defiance College 7-2 Wednesday afternoon to claim their tenth win of the year. The Yellow Jackets are coached by HU alum and former tennis standout Gonzo Vivas.

A pair of seniors in Mark Lewandowski and Vova Kohut led the way by teaming up to win at #2 doubles and then turning around to each beat his opponent in singles action. What should have been HU’s fourth match of the spring was just the second as inclement weather has forced several cancellations.

Huntington (10-4-1) is back in action on Saturday to host Prairie State College at Wildwood Tennis Club in Fort Wayne at 3:00 p.m.
