The Crossroads League announced its postseason awards for the 2017-18 basketball season and among the list of honorees were three HU Foresters in Mike Bush, Konner Platt and Tyler Arens.

Bush is indisputably one of the best point guards in the league and for his efforts was named Second Team All-Conference, his second conference badge in as many years.

For the second straight season, the 5-7 senior playmaker topped the nation in assists. He tallied 273 dimes this year for an 8.5 average per night. He also poured in 17.6 points per outing, the 6th best average in the league, in addition to grabbing 2.7 rebounds and a team-leading 1.0 steals.

Bush (South Bend, Ind., John Adams HS) wraps up his career as a member of the Forester’s 1,000-point club having scored 1,050 points in his two years at Huntington. He also piled up 590 assists during his time in green and white. His name will go down in the record books for most assists in a game (18) and most assists in a season (317).

After earning a spot on the All-Freshmen Team last year, Platt was named Third Team All-Conference as voted on by the coaches this year. The 6-2 sophomore guard tossed in 14.6 points while pulling down 3.5 rebounds and handing out nearly two assists per night.

The Huntington native (Huntington North HS) buried a team-best 72 threes on the season at a clip of 43.4 percent to rank 8th in the league, 47th in the NAIA, in three-point field goal percentage. He also ranks 4th in the conference in threes per game (2.3).

Arens (Sweetser, IN, Muncie Central HS) rounds out HU’s honorees having earned Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades this season. The 6-8 big man led Huntington in scoring and rebounding this year by averaging 18.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per night.

Arens’ play landed him several top spots among his league peers which includes ranking 5th in scoring (18.3), 2nd in defensive rebounds (5.7), 3rd in rebounding (7.5), 4th in double doubles (7), 5th in blocks (1.0), 8th in offensive rebounds (1.8), 10th in field goal percentage (.512) and 10th in free throw percentage (.776).

The Foresters wrapped up the year with an overall record of 14-18.
