MEN’S TENNIS

Playing inside at Wildwood Racquet Club in Fort Wayne, the Huntington men’s tennis team opened up the spring portion of their schedule with a 4-4 draw against Cornerstone University (2-1-1). The match is the first of seven matches slated for this spring for the Foresters.

Doubles play favored the Golden Eagles, who already had three spring matches in the books, 2-1, but the Foresters came roaring back to win three of the first five singles matches to pull even with CU 4-4. Unfortunately, the match ran long and the court reservation ended before the last and deciding singles match could be completed to make for the rare tie.

The Foresters finished the fall season 9-4 so their overall record after today’s stalemate stands at 9-4-1. HU is back at it on March 17 when they host Grace at 10:30 a.m.
