Inaugural Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Contest a Big Success

Our inaugural Chili Cook-Off was quite a success as we had 18 different delicious pots of chili to sample along with a wide variety of desserts. Our celebrity panel of judges consisted of Mayor Brooks Fetters, Steve Kimmel (Huntington Chamber President), and Joey Spiegel (Executive Director of Love, Inc.). We also had great participation from faculty and staff who voted for “Peoples Choice” and then hung around to enjoy a great lunch of chili and dessert. It was a wonderful time of food, fellowship, and fun. A special shout-out to the Community Enhancement Council for the time and effort they put into it to make it a rousing success. Members include: Jean Cole (Chair), Pam Rudy, Peg DeBolt, Sandy Marion, Jayme Dee, Kay Schwob, and Luke McConnell.

Winners: Kay Schwob (Spicy Chili), Greg Smitley (Traditional Chili), Staci Rogers (Specialty Chili), Raymie Porter (People’s Choice Chili), and Beth West (Dessert).

Please mark your calendar for the next Community Enhancement Council event. We will be hosting a Tailgate Party on February 17 beginning at 1:00pm in the Fieldhouse. Come and enjoy a tailgate party along with men’s and women’s basketball games (Go Foresters!). More information forthcoming on this fun event.
